A Southern California native, Himeno Vigo, fell in love with acupuncture and herbal medicine while working at a holistic veterinary clinic in Sherman Oaks. While working at the clinic she was amazed to learn that acupuncture could be used for a variety of conditions especially because animals are very receptive to acupuncture.
Himeno holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Health and a minor in Sustainability from CSU of Northridge. She then went on to attend Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine inspired by her work at the veterinary clinic.
During school she followed a veterinarian that focused on whole food nutritional therapy, which became a main area of interest for her. She also found that the Neuro Emotional Technique was able to alleviate her low back problem and was trained in this technique as well. After being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), she used acupuncture and nutrition to manage her symptoms. Having direct experience with this condition has led her to become interested in helping other women with gynecological and fertility concerns.
Her passions include internal medicine and gynecological issues. She has formal training in Morphogenic Field Testing, Nutritional Stress Analysis Testing and Neuro Emotional Technique. She is passionate about Chinese medicine and continues to learn as much as possible. In her free time, Himeno likes to hike and spend time with her animals and family.
She is in-network with United Health Care, Blue Shield of CA (Jan 2020), and Anthem insurance plans.
