Frequently Asked Questions

At Health & Human Performance, we intend to be as transparent as possible because we don’t like surprises either. We’ve listed out frequently asked questions to help you understand insurance coverage, treatment, and ongoing care.

If at any time you feel your questions remain unanswered, please call our office at 818-704-5121 and our team will be happy to assist. You have questions and we have the answers.

Do you Accept Insurance?

We accept most major PPOs, and FSA cards, and submit any out-of-network claims on your behalf. Your cost of care depends on your insurance plan.

What If My Insurance Doesn’t Cover Chiropractic?

If your insurance does not cover chiropractic care, not to worry! We have discounted non-insurance prices for chiropractic care, as well as therapies. We also offer Care Packages where you can buy a bulk amount of services upfront.

Am I A Good Case For Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is one of the leading forms of natural healthcare and is ranked most effective for natural pain relief. Patients that are in 8, 9, or 10 out of 10 pain are not good candidates for chiropractic care because they cannot get to the office and tolerate an exam and treatment.

A patient who is unable to come into the office unassisted tends to have better results with Urgent Care.

Should I Get Chiropractic, Massage, Or Both?

If tension and tightness are the major complaints, massage tends to be a good fit. If there is sharp or intense pain, it is best to see the chiropractor only on the first appointment.

Massage therapy is great for relaxing muscles and reducing tension, but chiropractic care is the only way to restore full range of motion to the joints of the spine.

If a joint in the neck or back is stuck, massage therapists cannot correct that for you. If you have never seen our chiropractors before, we highly recommend it.

How Often Do I Need To Receive Chiropractic Care?

How often you receive care will depend on your specific condition, how your body responds to treatment. and how well you follow your assigned home care.

Do You Take X-Rays or MRIs?

If the doctor believes that an x-ray or MRI is necessary before moving forward with care, he or she will discuss that with you at the time of your appointment and refer you out to have them taken. There is no way for us to know if they are necessary until the doctor has performed the consult and examination.

I Am Scared To Have My Neck Adjusted. Do I Have To Do This?

Our doctors will never perform any adjustments the patient is not comfortable with. If you do not prefer the manual adjustment of the neck, we do have lower-force techniques available.
