Dr. Tanya Cobey D.C. CCSP

Chiropractor

Meet Dr. Tanya Cobey, an esteemed chiropractor with an impressive background in the field of healthcare. She earned her doctorate degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College Los Angeles in December 2011, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology.

She has pursued advanced training in sports injury and corrective care, earning her certification as a Chiropractic Sports Physician, C.C.S.P. She specializes in a range of techniques including manual adjustments and mobilization, Graston Technique®, Kinesio-taping®, and Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR®). Her expertise has led her to actively participate in various sporting events such as the Conejo Valley Triathlon, the Drew Brees Celebrity Golf Tournament, and the Regional Cross Fit Games in San Diego, CA.

Dr. Cobey offers a wide range of professional services tailored to address neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction. Her approach includes chiropractic treatments, functional assessments, physical rehabilitation, orthopedic and neurological examinations, diagnostic procedures, soft tissue therapy, strength training, and exercise rehabilitation.

Massage Therapists

TOM

Tom is a highly skilled massage therapist who graduated from the Advanced School of Massage Therapy in 2002. With a lifelong athletic background, he understands the benefits of massage therapy for recovery and injury healing. Tom stays up to date with continuing education courses in massage and manual therapy, specializing in techniques such as sports massage, deep tissue massage, and therapeutic cupping. His goal is to help clients improve body awareness and focus on recovery. Tom has extensive experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, including runners, cyclists, triathletes, and MMA fighters. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, hiking, cycling, Jiu-Jitsu, and boxing. Choose Tom for a deep therapeutic massage that enhances performance and aids in recovery.

RAQUEL

Raquel is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with 2 bachelor’s degrees in English and Design. She is also a graduate of Antonelli College with an Associate in Medical Massage Therapy. She has another Associate degree from the Florida College of Natural Health in Massage therapy and spa therapy spa management. Raquel was an understudy at a medical spa where she was trained in Chinese medicine, Chinese meridians, and other Asian cultural modalities. Being Afro-Caribbean, Raquel uses her native upbringing of holistic and natural care and uses elements from the Earth for healing and medicine.

Raquel’s unique technique is very intuitive. She specializes in Deep Tissue and is certified in: Sports, Pre-and Post Natal, Yoga massage, Lymphatic drainage, Swedish, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Cranial Sacral, Herbology, 4th Level Reiki Master, Hot Stones, Ashiatsu, Tui na, Lomi Lomi, Oncology massage, ROM, Health and nutrition, Aromatherapy, Rolfing, , and deep breathing, as well as a few NBA, NFL athletes and celebrity clients.

Raquel has been in the Los Angeles area since 2022. She is also certified and licensed as a nursing assistant, and medical assistant while working 3 years during the pandemic and the hospital as a float nurse where she developed many skills in Western medicine.

KALEY

Kaley is a Certified Massage Therapist who graduated with an 800-hour diploma from East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, OR in 2022. She also received her BA in Global Studies from Western Michigan University and began her studies in Tibetan Mind and Body Sciences through Emory University in 2012.

She continues to learn new ways to integrate Eastern modalities into her massage practice. Her approach is influenced by Tui Na, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Sports Massage techniques.

She believes in a patient-centered approach that is trauma-informed and adaptive to the needs of each individual. Kaley integrates other external therapies such as gua sha, Theragun, silicone cupping, and moxibustion.

When not practicing massage therapy she can usually be found spending time in the ocean.

ALISSA MATHEWSON

Certified Yoga Instructor & Office Manager

Alissa is an integral part of the Health and Human Performance team, bringing over 16 years of management experience and a background in yoga instruction since 2012. Her journey into yoga began in 2008 when she sought its benefits for stress-related shingles. Inspired by its positive impact, she obtained her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate in India. Alissa has since taught various yoga styles, including Hatha, Restorative, Vinyasa, Limited Movement, and Prenatal yoga, both in group and private settings. She has also worked with diverse populations, including foster care youth and individuals with addiction, eating disorders, chronic pain, and dual diagnoses.

Alissa specializes in Trauma-Informed Yoga, aiding those with trauma, PTSD, and high anxiety. Since 2014, she has been helping patients at Health & Human Performance, focusing on rehabilitating injuries and promoting proactive health practices.
